We are writing to you with an update on the status of the Christmas lights in Kings Heath this year. As you are probably aware, the reason we began this crowdfunding page is because we were informed that the normal way in which the Christmas lights are funded in KH was not going to be possible in 2017.
The Kings Heath Business Improvement District (BID) would normally fund the lights, so when their representatives informed us back in September that they wouldn’t be able to fund the lights this year we set about raising the funds with the help of the community. However, since September there have been some changes at the BID and we are delighted to say that they are now in a position to fund the lights as normal. We are thrilled that they are putting on the lights as their budget means there will be more lights in Kings Heath than we could have realistically provided.
This means that your generous pledges are no longer going to be needed for the lights in Kings Heath this year, so we are giving all pledgers the option to have their money refunded in full. If you are happy for us to use your pledge towards future events and community activity in Kings Heath, then we would be delighted to put this money to good use. We are already planning the Kings Heath Festive Frolic on Saturday 16th December (see more on our FB / Twitter pages) and other events will follow.
We cannot refund the money directly through the crowdfunder website, so if you would like the refund please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will arrange the refund for you. If you are happy for us to use the money for other events there is no need to do anything. We would like to get all this tied up as soon as possible so we will assume that if we haven’t heard from you by the end of Tuesday 5th December that you are happy for us to use the money for other community events.
Thanks again for your support with this project, we feel that this project helped to ensure the lights in KH in 2017 and without your support it wouldn’t have been possible.
From the Kings Heath Community Interest Company
We think Kings Heath is in need of a great event to get the community together during this festive time of year, so the Kings Heath CIC is hosting the inaugural Kings Heath Festive Frolic in the Village Square.
There will be live music, street food, craft stalls, children’s entertainment, street performers and plenty of festive cheer.
Please join us for this free event that will light up Kings Heath this Christmas. #LightUpKH
We are delighted to announce our inaugural KHCIC social in the back room in the Hare & Hounds on Thursday 2nd November from 6pm onwards.
We will begin with a quick update on recent activity at the KHCIC, followed by food, refreshments and general merriment.
We’d love to see you there and hope to formalise the arrangements for the KH Community Choir as well as setting the wheels in motion for some other plans.
Everyone is welcome, please spread the word!!!
Good morning Kings Heath! As many of you are aware the fabulous Kings Heath Street Festival did not take place this year which we feel is a great shame.
As we have the main organisers of the KHSF 2014/2015 amongst our ranks we thought we should ensure KH is not deprived of the festival in 2018.
Aviva is offering £10,000 to the community projects which get the most votes, so if you’d like to see the street festival return in 2018 please cast your 10 votes below. Please share and spread the word, there is a lot of competition.
Hello fellow Heathens, and welcome to our brand new website. The aim of the site is many fold.
First, we want to make sure we can give as much publicity to our Christmas Light Crowdfunding campaign. You can see a link to the page and how to donate right here: khxmaslightsfund/
Second, we would like to get you guys involved. Afterall, Kings Heath Community Interest Company is made up as a partnership between businesses and the community as a whole. Our aim is to find new ways to promote the Heath and to get more people sharing ideas. If you would like to be involved or have ideas for what can be done etc, then please use our lovely new contact form: kingsheathcic.co.uk/contact/
One of the other things we wish to do with the site is keep you updated on current projects and public meetings and you can do this at the blog page and the minutes page.
So please take the time to explore and don’t forget to donate to the Christmas Lights Crowdfund and share the page with others.
Finally, we would like to mention Emma Page from Nineteen76-Designs who has built the site for us.
Emma Page has been instrumental in getting the KHCIC website up and running. In under a week from when we first discussed the project with Emma she has managed to populate the website and get it live. We cannot thank her enough for helping us through the process and leaving us with a great site that we are proud to publicise. We couldn’t speak more highly of Emma – thanks again for your help.
